The hotel had a stunning view of the square and beautiful buildings but faced issues with brown water in the taps, noisy surroundings, and cold temperature overnight. However, the location was ideal for exploring the historic center on foot.
Staying at this hotel was a mixed experience. The location was excellent, overlooking the square and right on Plaza San Martin, which was fantastic. However, the rooms seemed to have mostly original furnishings, giving a dark and dingy vibe. The service was a bit hit or miss, with a nice and clean hotel but unfriendly staff that seemed distant and lacked English proficiency.
My stay at the hotel was fantastic! The rooms were enormous, overlooking the Main Street, and although a little chilly, they were HUGE and gorgeous, providing a quiet retreat. The service was top-notch, with the staff always very helpful and polite, greeting you with a smile and being old-time attentive. The location was central, with easy access to tourist spots, especially being on Plaza San Martin, however slightly overpriced. The dining experience was delicious, with made-to-order dishes and fresh squeezed juice. The facilities were excellent, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The hotel has a very nostalgic ambiance with huge and spacious rooms that could use some freshening up, though the musty odor might remind you of Ernest Hemingway's era. The service was professional and friendly but felt somewhat distant at times. The central location is perfect if you want to explore Lima, despite potential noise issues. The dining experience was a mix of positives and negatives, and the facilities offered their charm with some quirks.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of historic Lima, but the noise levels were quite high throughout the night. The service was exceptional, with staff always ready to assist, but the dining experience left much to be desired with very inadequate options. The rooms had a strong musty odor and overlooked a noisy side street, however, the facilities were decent.
My stay at the hotel was a bit mixed. While the inner-yard rooms were quiet and offered some privacy, the furniture was old and uncomfortable. The personnel in the restaurant were not very friendly. However, the location was excellent, being steps away from Plaza San Martin and Plaza de Armes, along with shops and great restaurants.
I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious suite at this hotel, with separate areas for a lobby, lounge, dressing room, bedroom, and bathroom. The room was elegantly decorated with period furniture and boasted high ceilings and Juliette balconies, but it definitely needs a significant investment to update it to modern standards.
The hotel's rooms were huge and spacious, evoking thoughts of Ernest Hemingway's era. While the furniture was old and uncomfortable, the cleanliness was top-notch. The grand and quiet ambiance was a standout, but the restaurant personnel were perceived as rude.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was excellent, right in the heart of Lima on the St Martin square, making it convenient for exploring the city. However, the rooms were dark and dingy with old furniture and an uncomfortable bed. The service, though helpful in fixing the TV and providing a fan, lacked friendliness and English proficiency. The dining experience was a hit and miss, with both excellent and poor food options available.
I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's charm and convenient location in the heart of Lima, near major attractions and dining options. The service was exceptional, providing me with all the necessary assistance and recommendations. However, the room facing the street was a bit noisy at times. Overall, a memorable stay with great value for money.
